Bringing the Foreword Forward
What was supposed to set the stage for readers of Heal to Lead, Gina Hayden's foreword can finally bask in the light it deserves six months post-launch.
Gina Hayden, author of Becoming a Conscious Leader and co-founder and director of The Global Centre for Conscious Leadership, generously wrote the foreword to Heal to Lead. Even though it needed to be cut from the final file, I wanted to ensure that it was shared with as many people as possible. And celebrating 6 months since the book’s release on 4/30/24 seemed to me a beautiful way to honor Gina and her contribution.
Foreword to Heal to Lead
by Gina Hayden
We need only put our noses to our windows these days to recognize how essential high-conscious leadership has become to the world and the quality of our lives as humanity on this planet. From war to climate change, pandemics to poverty, extinction to dictatorship, and discrimination to mental health stigmatization, the signs of human thinking gone wrong are all around us as reminders that we need to be doing things differently. We owe it to ourselves as sentient beings of immense influence to make better choices and wiser decisions that benefit all of life on Earth.

We were not as aware of our connectedness and so could believe that something that happened in another corner of the world did not affect us directly. That our actions did not appear to us to carry as much immediate impact and responsibility. These days, it is impossible not to see how interdependent we all are as one living, breathing entity. As we watch climate clocks ticking down and experience the impact of human rights being rescinded, most of us feel the urgency to act and live more consciously. Our context is literally changing us right in front of our own eyes.
